Since moving to Nigg from the Scottish Borders, I’ve been fascinated by the Cromarty Firth and it’s ever changing seascape, especially the way that industry, tourism, wild-life and the busy lives of local people seem to run alongside each other quite happily.

My paintings are mostly seascapes and fishing villages , filled with the tankers ,oil-rigs, yachts and fishing boats that share the waters with the dolphins and seals. I enjoy painting in different styles ( when the mood takes me) but at the moment my paintings are mainly acrylic on stretched canvas. Applied in many layers,I love the way the colours and texture build up and there is always surprise at the end result as I tend not to plan my paintings too much, preferring just to see where the paint takes me!!

I like to think my paintings make people smile.
