Renate is a local artist specialising in landscape painting en plein air. She enjoys most to paint in the depths of winter, capturing the essence of the place at the moment it is observed. Being a forestry landscape architect by profession it is little wonder her most frequent subjects are trees – their distinctive shapes, colour and silhouette – in the landscape.
Renate has painted all her life, studying art to A level. She attends frequent workshops and summer schools to hone her skills and develop in drawing, painting and print making.
