Mina Rusk

I first became interested in ceramics in the mid-1990s.

I have been inspired by many different things. During my second pregnancy I became fascinated with the pregnant form, resulting in coil pots with an obvious bump. I also like to hand-build vessels based on microscopic organisms. This stems from my science background.

For this exhibition, I have taken a closer look at the movement of water, as well as the shapes and contours of the sea. I work with both stoneware and earthenware. All my pieces are individual, with a sculptural quality, but still functional.
