Silversmith and fused glass artist, with a weakness for pearls, lace and all things weddings. I focus on creating unique, hand crafted jewellery and vintage wedding accessories, all from my studio on the Moray coast in Scotland.
After completing a BA Hons at Norwich School of Art and Design, I completed post graduate studies in education and became a teacher of art and design. Whilst teaching I continued with my own artistic studies, and completed a number of courses in glass fusing and silversmithing, before starting my own business.
My jewellery often incorporates traditional silversmithing techniques with fused glass straight from my kiln, these creations are often inspired by the landscapes that surround me, incorporating the changing seasons and the colour schemes that evolve with them, along with the ever changing weather patterns. I am interested in the patterns that can be created and inclusions that can be added within the layers of the glass, before the fusing process, and how these change after firing. No two pieces are ever the same! I use only sterling silver to finish my jewellery range, although on occasion I do use silver plated backs on my cufflinks; this is always clearly marked. I also like to create statement one of a kind necklaces that all have stories to tell; influenced by my magpie collections of found treasures and antique jewellery.
I believe that the one thing that links my work is the fact that every piece has been inspired by life, and has been designed, not just to be worn, but to be lived.
