I am enchanted  by traditional basketry techniques from around the world, particularly complex plaiting techniques, and I also enjoy experimenting, using traditional weaves and forms in a new way, or adding colour to them in order to make something interesting to me.

Working with traditional techniques and materials gives me a feeling of connection with both our own basketmaking past, and with the universal language of basketmaking spoken by the makers I meet on my travels in other countries.

[I have exhibited in several UK museums with the group ‘Basketry Plus’, and took part in the Basketmakers Association exhibition ‘Basketry Identity’ in 2015]
