Emma Noble BA hons
I studied Printmaking at Gray’s School of Art, graduating with an honours degree in 2008, before returning to my hometown of Kyle of Lochalsh. I’m currently working full-time as a graphic designer for a local print company, but spend my evenings and weekends making artwork in my studio in Kyle.
I tend towards the urban environment – man-made structures, shapes, surfaces and iconography. I start with a colour or shape idea, and evolve the artwork in a very fluid and experimental way through print. I work mainly with relief print and screenprint, printing layer after layer on a variety of surfaces including handmade paper and wood.
I have exhibited widely across Scotland, including recent solo exhibitions in Helmsdale and Aberdeen.
My work is held in the Grampian Hospital Arts Trust and also in private collections across the UK, France and Canada.
Other works by Emma are available at the gallery.
