Born in Blackpool Lancashire 1944, studied at Burnley College of Art from 1960 to 1964 then to Leeds University Institute of Education and in 1965 took a career in teaching. After early retirement in 1994 I worked freelance for St Martins Teacher Trainer College in Lancaster.
Moved to the Black Isle Scotland in 2002 and lived there ever since.
The Black Isle has been my main source of inspiration since moving here! The old fishing villages, the landscapes, and the coast provide an endless source of fascination.
In the past I worked mainly in gouache but in the last few years I have come to love water colours (with occasional forays into mixed media).
I go out drawing as often as possible and enjoy this as much – if not more than the ensuing painting process.
